Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He bows as the fourth wicket-taker in the country (417) after Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and R Ashwin.

Harbhajan said on Twitter "All good things come to an end and today as I bid farewell to this life-giving game, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year journey so beautiful and memorable,".


Harbhajan, 40, finished his career having played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20Is in India. He made his team debut in 1998 in ODI against Australia, and was part of the Indian team that won the WT20 in 2007 and the team that lifted the 2011 World Cup in India. Harbhajan won seven wickets in the first round of the T20 World Cup as he led the spin-bowling attack, and became India's first spin-bowling option in the 2011 ODI WC again, where India defeated Sri Lanka in the final to raise the bar. cup.
