Enforcement Directorate summons actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan about Panama papers, sources said today. Over allegations of embezzlement abroad the ED investigation department wants to investigate actor in Delhi , sources said. She has reportedly asked for extra time.
Aishwarya Rai, the daughter-in-law of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, wanted twice as much when he was being questioned.
The Enforcement Directorate began investigating allegations of forex violations in 2017. ED Summons a notice to the Bachchan family asking to explain under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the RBI about their remittances from 2004 .
Aishwarya Rai had submitted records of external payments being investigated. Sources say the organization wants to record his statement now.
The "Panama Papers" case is a widespread case involving millions of stolen documents leaked to the media in 2016. The allegations involved in this case is that the richest and most powerful personalities or celebrity in the world set up kind of accounts or companies to avoid taxes and hide the income. More than 300 Indians are said to be involved in the Panama Papers.
