Rahul Gandhi, congress leader on Friday said "Hindutvawadis always spread hatred and violence" and all other communities pay a price for it. He said India was against violence and this should not happen.
A former INC official made the statement remarks while addressing the 'Dharma Sansad' held in Haridwar from Dec 17-20 when hate speech and violence was allegedly perpetrated against the community.
The event organizer, Yati Narasimhanand Giri of Juna Akhada, who is already under police surveillance for his hatred remarks speech and inciting violence against Muslims.
"Hindutvavadi always spread hatred and violence. Hindus-Muslims-Sikhs-Christians pay your price. But that is no longer the case!" Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi with the hashtags 'India Against Hindutva' and the 'Haridwar Hate Assembly'.
Along with Rahul Gandhi, Congress secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also called for strict action.

" Those who spreading hatred and violence among communities should be punished strongly. It is a disgrace that they should go public with the murder of our esteemed former Prime Minister and incite violence against the people of different communities and violate our constitution and the law."
Johannesburg - A fire has been opened against Jitendra Narayan Tyagi and others over hate speech in Dharma Sansad in Haridwar to incite violence against a minority group, police said on Friday.
Tyagi, changed his name to Waseem Rizvi after converting to Hinduism earlier, and other speakers at last week's event are accused of making derogatory remarks and other videos found on social media spreading hatred.
Haridwar Kotwali police station SHO Rakinder Singh said the FIR was registered on Thursday under IPC Section 153A - inciting animosity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, place of residence, language - and the matter was still being investigated.
From a resident of Jwalapur area in Haridwar, FIR is registered. Asked about video clips that were being circulated on social media, the official said police did not yet have videos of the event.
TMC senior leader called immediate action against the speakers in the event at Ved Niketan Dham for three days last week.
TMC spokesperson Saket Gokhale, who lodged a complaint with the Jwalapur police station to register the FIR within 24 hours.
He has set a December 27 deadline for police to arrest Dharma Sansad activists and those who deliver violent speeches against Muslims and a few others at the event.
