PM-KISAN Yojana: PM Modi released over ₹ 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore farmers


Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the PM-KISAN program donated Rs 20,900 crore to more than 10.09 crore farmers across India as the tenth installment of financial assistance.
PM Modi donated the money to the beneficiaries through of the video event.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) program, a profit of ₹ 6,000 per annum is provided to families of qualified farmers, who are paid in three equal installments of ₹ 2,000. The money is directly deposited to the framer beneficiary bank account.
During the inaugural event, the Premier also awarded a grant of more than Rs 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producers’ Associations (FPOs), which benefited 1.24 lakh farmers.
The event was attended by up to nine chief ministers, a few ministers from different provinces, and representatives of agricultural institutions.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in event said on the first day of the New Year 2022, about Rs 20,900 crore was transferred to more than 10.09 crore farmer beneficiaries. He also said the government’s efforts to help farmers earn twice as much for which the PM-KISAN program was introduced.
The 9th installment of PM-KISAN was released in August 2021.
In the most recent phase released, the total amount provided under the program affected approximately R1.8 lakh crore. The PM-KISAN Plan was announced in the February 2019 Budget. From December 2018 to March 2019 was the period of the first installment .
